2021 Christmas Scavenger Round Robin

$500 in prizes in Amazon gift cards!

Merry Christmas and welcome to my stop on the Christmas Fiction Round Robin Scavenger Hunt! I’m one of 25 Christian authors participating in this year’s scavenger hunt. Here’s how it works: at each author’s blog post, you will find a question that can be answered by checking out the free Amazon preview of their book. Provide the answer at this form. Note: You must answer the questions for every author in the round -robin to be considered to win the $250 first place, $150 second place or $100 third place Amazon gift cards. These prizes are USD values. If you are not a U.S. resident, you will get a gift card from the Amazon store for your country; however, it will be valued at these USD amounts.)

At the end of my post is a link to the next blog, who will provide a link to the next blog, etc., to the very end, creating a circle (a round-robin) visit through all of the authors’ blogs.

I’m excited to tell you about A Goose Creek Christmas. Al Richardson is nearing retirement, and he’s not looking forward to it. He’s made a promise to his wife, Millie, that when he retires they will open up her Bed and Breakfast, and he sees nothing but trouble ahead. But a promise is a promise, especially a promise to your wife, so he’s resigned. Until the worst possible thing happens – Al gets fired. “Not fired, dude,” his boss, Lewis, says. “You’re just retiring a few years early, with full pay and benefits.” The annoying young man slaps Al on the back. “Congratulations, dude.” But Al knows what’s really going on. They’re getting rid of the old guys, replacing them with young people who drink cappuccinos instead of real coffee and refer to each other as “dude.” And where will that leave him? Carrying luggage and waiting tables.  And just five weeks before Christmas. It’s a disaster, that’s what it is. Well, he won’t do it. Not yet, anyway. He needs time to come up with another plan. He just won’t tell anyone about being fired, including Millie. Not yet.

With the help of an unlikely accomplice, Al spends his days scanning want ads and frequenting out-of-town coffee shops in an effort to hide his secret from all of Goose Creek—including his wife. But one thing is certain: In Goose Creek, no secret stays hidden for long. The most holy of holidays is swiftly approaching. Is Al in for a Merry Christmas or a Marriage Crisis?

So here’s my question for the scavenger hunt:

How long has Lewis been Al’s boss at J&J Services?

Click on the book cover, which will take you to the amazon page for A Goose Creek Christmas. Then click on the “Look Inside” link and read the very short opening scene. When you know the answer to the question above, FILL OUT THIS FORM .
